ExperienceArmed with a university degree in translation studies, Evita Vitola started her career in the translation and localization industry as a freelance translator, providing English into Latvian (and vice versa) translation services for several European translation agencies over a period of nine years. Utilizing the experience she had gained in the language-related service industry, Ms. Vitola opted to switch roles and joined one of the EU's network of translation contractors, translation agency Archetypon, where she accepted the job of in-house project manager. Evita’s interest in the international arena has deep roots. Prior to accepting the position of Managing Director at RixTrans Ltd, Evita also worked as a full-time project manager at one of the largest translation companies in the Baltics, NordText Ltd, where she was responsible for managing large-scale projects for the company's key clients. Among other skills, she was able to master quality assurance procedures that adhere to ISO 9001 regulations. Evita's considerable experience shepherding large and small translation projects through to completion in a timely and cost-effective manner enabled her to progress to the Senior Translation Project Manager/Branch Manager position at Baltic Media Ltd: here, she started to implement fresh ideas and initiatives, thus contributing to the company's growth. In her current role as Managing Director of RixTrans Ltd, Evita is able to bring her strong background in working with different cultures and this wealth of experience into her everyday dealings with clients, who rely on Ms. Vitola to help them meet their goals for quality, timeline and budget with their translation and localization projects. “Having been in the shoes of translator, client, project manager and team leader is an unforgettable experience that helps me every day,” she says.
