British and American English
There are some well-known differences between British and American English, including pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, punctuation, idioms, and formatting for dates and numbers. Many of these spelling differences result from French influence on the language. British English has a tendency to retain the spelling of many words that are of French origin. However, Americans try to spell words more closely to the way they sound phonetically, and they tend to omit some letters. That’s why we use only UK-based translators to translate documents for a UK audience and US-based translators for documents and websites that are intended for the US market.
